Gain a strong foundation in the mortgage industry

Students will prepare for testing and licensing in mortgage loan origination by learning about loan terminology and structuring, the application process, industry technologies, marketing, sales, the history of minority banking challenges and more.

Internship
While still in the program, students will experience real world mortgage transactions by shadowing and assisting licensed mortgage professionals.

Cost
Full tuition scholarships will be awarded to those who are accepted and complete the program. To enroll in the academy, each student is required to pay $300 for bond and E&O insurance.

In-person & online instruction

Our next session runs from 9/18–12/22/23 and combines onsite and virtual instruction. Students are required to attend in-person classes at Denver’s George Washington High School on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6–9pm MST. Two additional nights per week are devoted to online assignments and collaboration. Reliable transportation and internet are necessary.

Keystone Mortgage Academy Founder Janine Kempfer

Founder: Janine Kempfer

Janine has almost 30 years of entrepreneurial experience in the franchise, real estate and mortgage industries. Her business ownership career began with two independent and successful brokerages in real estate sales and mortgage finance. Today, Janine is the President and Owner of Prime Mortgage, LLC located in Greenwood Village, CO.

Her passion is to bridge gaps in homeownership, ensuring that everyone who wants to buy a house has a good chance of obtaining one through fair lending and community outreach. As the VP of Impact for the Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (the nation’s largest mortgage association), she acknowledges and serves underrepresented communities through meaningful programs across the national mortgage broker channel.

Janine founded Keystone Mortgage Academy in 2022 to continue her mission. After decades in the mortgage industry, she has seen firsthand the challenges that minority families face on the road to homeownership. She is committed to increasing minority representation within the mortgage industry, ensuring it reflects the diverse communities we serve.

Keystone Mortgage Academy Instructor Ken Jones

Instructor: Ken Jones

Ken is a highly skilled residential and commercial mortgage professional with more than 20 years of experience. Over that time, he has an exceptional track record, totaling more than $400 million in financial transactions. Ken is well-versed across the financial industry, including the latest trends and developments.

Ken is passionate about mentoring and serving the underserved. Through teaching, he contributes to the personal and professional growth of his students and the advancement of the field.

Keystone Mortgage Academy Community Outreach Director Dr. Auset Maryam

Community Outreach Director: Dr. Auset Maryam

Dr. Auset is a holistic doctor who incorporates indigenous healing and practices in all that she does. As the CEO of Organizational Equity Solutions, she aids companies and organizations in the design, implementation and sustainability of change management, diversity, equity, inclusion, equity auditing and operational structures and systems.

She serves on many boards and has completed many prestigious fellowships. Auset is a strong community organizer and volunteer.

Our next session will be held from 9/18–12/22/23 at George Washington High School, 655 S. Monaco St. Pkwy., Denver, CO 80224. Applications are due July 15, 2023. Qualified students are eligible for scholarships. Future sessions will open in additional regions throughout the country.

Refund Policy

Refund requests received seven (7) business days before the course commences will be charged a $55.00 processing fee. All other remaining fees that were collected at the time of registration will be refunded. There will be no refund if a refund is requested less than seven days before the course starts. Enrollees who do not attend the course or receive a refund may apply any non-refunded fees to a future course. Any refunds issued will be paid by check, sent to the address on file via US Mail.

Cancellation Policy

Keystone Mortgage Academy reserves the right to cancel a course without prior notice. In this case, a full refund will be issued to the enrollee.
